Catherine the Great read the report of the dishonest mayor and exclaimed: "It is curious to see this Shadrinsk goose. What a one!" She meant the governor, but... the Shadrinsk officials pretended to understand the words literally and sent the queen geese led by the governor's cunning assistant Epishka. At a reception with the empress, the English ambassador tasted the roasted Shadrinsk goose. And an agreement was concluded on the delivery of Shadrinsk geese to England!
