The ancient Mondoshivan civilization is the guardian of life in the universe, preventing an apocalypse every five thousand years and creating the only perfect weapon against evil. Therefore, their flag/banner could incorporate relevant conceptual aspects and symbolism.
In heraldry, a shield is a symbol of protection (the general outline of the flag). A key (aquila): symbolizes knowledge and mystery.
At the beginning of the film, an archaeology professor studies Egyptian cuneiform, where a close-up of one of the graphic symbols for the Fifth Element (planetary alignment) appears. It closely resembles, or literally is, the Triquestra (a triangle with circles). In various cultures, the Triquestra signifies the unity of the natural elements: earth, water, and air, the Trinity, rebirth, protection, etc.
The Seed of Life is an ancient sacred geometric symbol of seven intertwined circles: the connection of all living things in the universe and their common source; the foundation of existence. That's why I combined "Seed of Life" and Triquetra in a single composition. Mondochivan's appearance is distinguished by its rounded shapes (spherical teardrop-shaped bodies) and stripes with circles, which personally remind me of the symbol of the DNA chain—a phenomenon of organic life on our planet that stores information about the development and structure of living organisms. If two Mondochivans were placed back to back, they would form an infinity figure 8, or DNA. And, of course, Lilu, whom they created, possesses super DNA.
